About Us

Ascensus was founded in 2005 and incorporated shortly afterwards.

The company is based around the work and ideas of Robbie Hughes, Managing Director and Dan Lambert, Technical Architect.

Company Profiles

Robbie Hughes

An Aeronautic Engineer by training, Robbie founded Dynamic Systems,  his first company, in 2004; Ascensus was created one year later.   Working in IT with medical firms in the City of London, Robbie found that there was no bridge between good business practice and good IT systems - the majority of these firms were using systems that were apparently designed by IT engineers who had little or no understanding of the business that the systems were meant to operate in.  Ascensus was founded to change this, and Emma was created.

Robbie's has extensive experience in IP systems, VoIP systems, QOS, VPNs, Routing, Linux, Windows, Unix, MacOS X, various SQL variants and is widely regarded as having a dangerous amount of knowledge about a variety of (invariably simple) programming languages. 

Robbie spends his time working, plotting more work, and riding motorbikes. 

Dan Lambert

Dan is the lead Technical Architect behind the development work at Ascensus.  He is a specialist at Object oriented code and codes Emma in his sleep. He speaks Visual Basic, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, PHP, COBOL, Scheme, Ada, ML as well as SQL (most variants).

When he's not conjuring up beautiful new designs, he spends his time setting the world to rights.
