How to create a new diary template

Print E-mail
To create a new diary template, go to Management and then click on Diary Templates in the Diary section.
To the right hand side of the screen is a box enabling you to create a template, on the left are the templates you have already created.

1) Enter the name of the template you wish to create - this should be a functional name you can refer to later.
2) Enter whether the diary refers to one practioner in particular - ie you only want Dr Spock to be working 9-1 because he has ear waxing every afternoon.
3) Enter the diary quantum - this is the smallest amount of time bookable in the diary. All appointments you book in this diary must fit in these quantums. ie - if you only have half hour appointments, you can set the quantum to 30mins, 15mins, 10mins, 5 mins, 3mins, 2mins or 1min, but not 7mins, 11mins or 31mins because 30 (the length of your appointment) cannot be made from these numbers.
In practice, it makes sense to pick the largest quantum you can get away with. 15 minutes is usually a good number.

4) Hit create.
5) Click on the diary name that has now appeared on the left hand side.
6) Enter the sections you wish to have in the diary - ie - start at 9am, work till 12pm, then work from 3pm to 5pm.
This would be done like so:
6a) Enter 09:00 in the 'From' box
6b) Enter 12:00 in the 'To' box
6c) Click create
6d) Enter 15:00 in the 'From' box
6e) Enter 17:00 in the 'To' box.
6f) Click create.

You are now finished.
